I really don't understand how they (the NAC) can stand by the apostles being needed for forgiveness theory. Good question. Seems to me that for the faithful, it doesn't matter where it comes from. What's critical is for them to believe it, or face eternal consequences. Don't worry about where the teaching comes from; don't worry that we pulled together a bunch of verses taken out of context; the only thing you need to worry about is believing it!

This has been the question I have had for quite some time. The quick answer is this: No. You are not missing something. There is not one reference to anyone forgiving sins besides those that are transgressed against themself. In other words, if I sin against you, you can forgive me and the Father can forgive us both.
