Since I have no solid information on Thrive, I cannot say if this really applies to it or not. Today I emailed a friend who is lifelong NAC and still attends and asks what the program is about. Below is his surprising answer (he said I could post it):
The “Thrive” program is intended to give a new member (and long term member) a booklet outlining the doctrine and practices of the NAC. It’s focus (I believe) is to encourage the member, new member or guest to turn their attention back to church (its rituals) and the meaning of being a New Apostolic Christian. Will it succeed, not unless 'the management’ implement an effective visiting program and/or sit down with each member or member family and talk about getting ‘energized’ and ‘engaged’ in the church. If this does not happen, then, I believe we could actually see the closing of upwards of 80 – 90% of all remaining congregations across the US.
Yes, it’s a bold statement but anyone who does not think it’s getting (really) bad are either ‘blind’ or ‘stupid’….
