Don't know if it's shtill done zis vay, but at least in za past it vas. I remember being involved in za "building" of a new church. If I remember, it vas a pre-fab from Kolb Konstruction (hey zat should be in za "6 degrees of separation" thread, now dat I tink of it, zere's also a Fendt Construction, who'd a thunk it !! ). Anyvay, from vat I remember, za majority of za completion/finishing vas done by volunteers. Usually zey efen got members from surrounding congregations to help, und a lot of zese volunteers took time off or vacation time to get za new building done. Vell guess vat? As tanks for getting it done on time und unter budget, did you get your bonus? Ach ja you say, "I got za blessing for helping in za Lords Work." Vouldn't it haf been great to get za blessing und a cold, hard cash blessing on top of it? I hear zat za local APs did, to the tune of $5000 per building, completed on time und under budget. You probably remember dem vurking along side you mit za deluxe hammer in their hands, too.

I hear some guys got over $100K unter zis incentive plan. Unfortunately, every silver (or in this case gold) linink has it's cloud. Zis vun involves a loyalty oath attached to za bonus. If da recipients of the bonus efer became disloyal to a certain individual, or maybe, group of individuals, zen dese "bonuses" vould need to be repayed in full in a very short time frame. Still, instead of giving up time/money, zey vere making it. No vonder a new congregation vas shtarted everytime zey could get 2-3 families to start one.
