The only really respectable Protestants are the fundamentalists. Unfortunately, they are also palpable idiots.

No, why should I take a day off for a soccer game? I don't get it why they put 22 men into an arena to fight for one leather ball. Each of them should have
their own ball ;-) and the fighting would stop.
The lady of the house and I took a nice long walk on this summer evening and we had the streets to ourselves. Oh, BTW, the Spanish guys won 1:0. We found that out later when we came home. Not much to our surprise, the collective groans we heard through the open windows told us that the Spanish team scored a goal. The Spanish women liked it; the fans in Berlin were sad. http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/0,5538,32904,00.html http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/06/29/sports/29vienna.php

I enjoy soccer and we watched the game. I had a great time shouting at the ref, shouting at Schweinsteiger, shouting at Podolsky, lots of shouting at my
favourite Jens Lehman...but alas, Torres was just too good for them.
Spain deserved to win this one. |

Banger asks:
Hey GG, you taking the day off for the game???? GG01 replies: No, why should I take a day off for a soccer game? You are absolutely right, GG01. You guys get all of those cool holidays, anyway! I don't get it why they put 22 men into an arena to fight for one leather ball. Each of them should have their own ball ;-) and the fighting would stop. That would especially help out the English fans, don't you think? |

Wacky Germans, part three?
What comes to your mind when you hear the term "public viewing"? This Anglizism is the buzzword in Germany for large (thousands) "crowds of Krauts" assembled in front of a huge TV screen watching the game, having a Bud, ... (probably more than one). Other interpretations may exist.
