Apostles Forgiving Sins - Where is it? |

Hi All,
Your assistance is needed.
I have been unable to find a single reference in Scripture either indicating or implying that any of the original Apostles or Disciples (those commissioned directly by Jesus) forgave anyone's sins.
Am I missing something?

Good question. Seems to me that for the faithful, it doesn't matter where it comes from. What's critical is for them to believe it, or face eternal
consequences. Don't worry about where the teaching comes from; don't worry that we pulled together a bunch of verses taken out of context; the only
thing you need to worry about is believing it!
This was reaffirmed today when we had the "pleasure" of attending a service in which the following points were driven home again and again and again: - Other churches may do good works, but only in the NAC is the "Lord's work" done. - To be part of the "bride of Christ" one must be sealed in the NAC and come under the "apostles' word" - Forgiveness of sins occurs ONLY in the NAC - The NAC apostles are necessary for the departed; without them, the departed would not be able to "come through" About this point, I wanted to stand up and yell, "But wait a minute! I thought that things had changed?!?!?!" Uh huh. Sure they have. Yeah. Right. It's the same as it ever was, and as it ever will be. I honestly wouldn't give a $hit about any of it, except that my heart breaks for my family, who remain in the spiritual bondage of this dangerous cult. |

My heart goes out to you Katherine. How did you get put into such dire straights? I must admit that the last service I had the "pleasure" to
attend in the NAC was actually a decent service, none of the messages that you heard. I really don't understand how they (the NAC) can stand by the
apostles being needed for forgiveness theory. Nearly all the teachings in the NT are written in the time period after the mysterious locked room incident and
never is forgiveness even hinted to be linked to the apostle ministry.

How did you get put into such dire straights? The same way it goes for most of us here: Because of family. Because we love our families and want to make them happy. So much for being "bitter malcontents."
I must admit that the last service I had the "pleasure" to attend in the NAC was actually a decent service, none of the messages that you heard. Lucky you! This one was anything but. 
I really don't understand how they (the NAC) can stand by the apostles being needed for forgiveness theory. Well, I suppose that when it's an apostle service, they feel compelled to justify their existence! 
Anyways, I'm glad you survived your trial today. I'm with you on the family thing too, mine's all still convinced too?!? Thanks for the empathy! That's one thing we survivors have for other survivors! Isn't it just tragic? Whether you've gone on to another Christian denomination, another religion entirely, or no religion at all, the feeling about our families is the same. It's just so heartbreaking to see them spiritually trapped and not even aware of it. It's almost like "1984": Freedom is Slavery! Ignorance is Strength! In actuality, it's "doubleplus ungood."
