These members also participate in Adult Bible Fellowships (smaller groups of people) who meet together to study the Bible together...with scripture, prayer and fellowship! These members are also involved in Evangelism (spreading the gospel of Christ (not their church) in their neighborhoods and they are involved in Missionary programs overseas and they also do much outreach in their communities. Go check out some of these churches -Sonja...and you will be suprised at some of the things you see....

Third, it is BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW from these other churches that I made my comment. Sorry, but I will not change my mind. I see it first hand :) They may have bibles in church, but as soon as they get home they go in the cupboard, the bibles that is. Now, as in everything else, this comment applies to the majority, not to everyone who attends church!!!

The people that I come into contact with, which for me might be the majority of people that I deal with on a daily basis, may not keep their cars clean... but that is not a majority of the population! ..... and how would I even begin to know what every person does or does not do in this entire world.... so we should not speak for the majority...unless we actually have proof to back up these claims!

When I first started posting here I mentioned that one parent is NAC and one isn't. I've attended MANY other churches and sat with the members of these churches and came to find that their bible is way more worn than ony I've seen in the NAC and also alot different. Maps, footnotes, actual cultural history in context, etc. YO

A retired NAC Priest who used to belong to that religion told me that he used to watch the church Deacons (not NAC) sneak into the back door of the local tavern: the same ones who preached against drinking alcohol. I think on this board they were called fundie wackos.

Rather, those who did by real or supposed an infraction of some moral or Godly way or law was condemned or finger waved into h*ll; and usually the finger pointers were way off base with no good facts about the supposed offender. That is why I wrote that the shoe also fits on the other foot.

We believe in our doctrine, but we do not push it. I really had here (looks down at his notes) do not shove it in the face of guests. We dont do that. Thats why people have a tendency to say were elitists, because all of the fine points of our doctrine, which we believe and stand for are usually the things that are pushed in front of people. You cant walk up to a guest and say, Do you know youve never had your sins forgiven? Do you know you havent been sealed with the Holy Spirit? Now, surely those things are true, but that isnt any way to draw souls. Thats going to make them think we think were better than we are. And thats not getting the foot in the door.
