How many Administration Brothers are there in the various districts under the age of 30? How many congregations are represented by that number?

I can only think of 4 ABs in the Los Angeles District that are younger than 30. We did have 5 ABs under 30, but one (20% of the future leadership of the LA District) was whisked away to Erie to work for the NAC. 4 under 30 in 14 congregations.

(I didn't include Phoenix or Tucson... don't know about those two congregations.)

Maybe they should keep telling the members that they need to give up their own ideas and follow Christ's Ambassadors Here On Earth In Childlike Obedience Of Faith, because that strategy has been working out so wonderfully for them.

Matt 24:22 "explains" this pretty clearly. The "elect" can only come from a continuous thinning of the "flock". The church has no choice but to accept diminishing returns...it is where true, final salvation lies. Retirement plans is entirely another matter.

It's been a couple of years since the much hyped Youth Weekend in Colorado, you'd think that 20 -30 bracket would just be bulging after all that fawning over the CA.

Last year Kolb and Winfred Jacobs held a seminar and Town Hall meeting in LAC for the LA district. Looking around the sanctuary at that time I recall thinking, "Guy, there sure aren't very many ABs and Wives interested in the future of this church." The sanctuary had few seats occupied.

Now, as I look seriously at the numbers of active ABs in the LA area, I realize that the low attendance wasn't necessarily due to apathy, but rather due to the dwindling numbers of active ABs.

In the 1980s and 90s, the various churches that held the District ABs & Wives services would be packed. Based on today's numbers, I doubt the sanctuaries would be even half-filled.

Just a cursory observation, the largest population bracket appears to be aged 41-50 with the 50+ coming in second (or vice versa). I would say that this is fairly reflective of the gen pop of the organization too. At this rate, the gen pop will probably experience a 30% reduction due to deaths in the next 20 yrs and a 60% reduction of the current population within 40 yrs.

I think what is happening too in the 41-50 yo bracket is that is the group that seems to be resigning and leaving or if not leaving, at least resigning due to burnout. With respect to the age brackets listed, a number of the cases only list 51+. We should really look at the >60 bracket. In LA District, the Dist Ev and 2 Rectors are over 60, LAC's being 62. One evangelist is also close to 60 if not there and will (based on previous conversations) take earlier than 65 retirement.

While I can be sarcastic many times - LACNAC makes a sobering point about the 41 to 50 years olds. They are asking what the NAC has provided for them and the answer is, "not much". In many cases the children of their BoB's don't attend or don't help along.

Meanwhile the same one or two families in each congregation are faithfully trudging in for every service. On top of that they are providing all of the services the NAC offers. They teach Sunday School & confirmation classes (many times to their own children), arrange altar flowers, mow the lawn, clean the church, visit members and then spend the weekend traveling to congregations unknown to chase a service with the (fill in your own high ministry here) because that's where the blessing is.

When they open their mouths the upper echelon looks upon them and thinks there is something spiritually wrong with them. Guess what NAC, the problem isn't with the members. The problem is with a rigid, centrally planned hierarchy that doesn't understand local needs. It didn't work in Communism and it doesn't work in the NAC either.

Yeah, where's that "Cool Trumpet Player" guy, or the mother and son combo that pretended to be people who didn't know each other? Where's "Rosco"? We need the really intelligent types to tell us where the church is with this whole "igniting" thing now that almost 4 years have passed and churches are being closed by the dozens. Where are all of Willy Leber's loud and boisterous cheerleaders? Are they priests and evangelists yet? Hmm? Huh? Hmm?

On July 18, 2010, at a Canadian Day of Youth, District Apostle Latorcai ordained 56 young brothers as Deacons, and six Deacons were ordained as Priests.

A record? Is there a competition out there?

I think the record for sealing the most people in one service is also held in the same district. Many years ago I watched as more than a hundred young people who were bused in for the occasion stood in front of the altar. The DA spoke and two or three apostles did the laying-on of hands.
